4th April 2025

Dear Parents

This is just a quick email to round off the Spring term.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who attended our Easter assembly this morning! Your support in encouraging the children to bring in flowers was greatly appreciated. The children enjoyed threading their flowers onto our cross, creating a stunning display. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Reverend Patrick Moriarty, who joined us for the first time in his new role as Rector of St. Nicholas' Parish. Rev. Moriarty shared the story of Easter with the children, adding a meaningful touch to our celebration. Thank you all for making this event so special!

Year 5 and Year 6 Football Winners!

A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 boys football team for their incredible effort throughout the league! They gave it their all in every match, showing determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Their hard work paid off as they won their final game, ending the season on a high note. The team represented the school with pride, and their dedication made everyone incredibly proud. Well done, boys – your efforts have truly been inspiring!

Bikeability

The Year 6 children completed their 'Bikeability' course this week in preparation for being secondary ready. This is a rite of passage for many children as it marks the beginning of the end to their primary years with us. They were all very responsible and responsive to the tutors and we are delighted that so many of them passed at the end. Congratulations to you all!

Cross Country Club

This week our cross country club enjoyed our termly trip to Simmonds. We were not expecting what happened next…a local doctor came to offer to pay for all our treats as he sees us every week and thinks it’s wonderful that we are out being active in nature each week before school. What an amazing and unexpected act of kindness!

Parents' Evening changes

Mrs. Curnow has been compiling the feedback from the Parents' Evening survey regarding changes in scheduling. Here are the key results:

  • 80% of respondents found the creche facility useful.
  • The most popular time for booking was 5:00 - 6:00 PM, with the next preferred time being before 4:00 PM.

Based on this feedback, we will schedule next year’s Parents' Evening to run from 3:00pm to 6:30pm. This will provide families who need later appointments with options while encouraging those who can to take advantage of earlier slots.
