Shakespeare Year 6 Class
Welcome to Year 6 Shakespeare Class!
We have a busy and rewarding year ahead, with our aim being to ensure that all children leave Year 6 feeling confident, independent and fully prepared for the exciting transition to secondary school. Alongside this, we will be working hard to help every child achieve their very best in their SATs. This year will bring many opportunities for academic, social and emotional development, and we are looking forward to supporting the children as they continue to grow and succeed.
Developing the children's growth mindsets, resilience and positive mental health strategies will be a key focus for the year. By developing these important life skills, the children will be better equipped to overcome challenges, embrace new opportunities and approach their move to secondary school with confidence and enthusiasm.
Our mornings will be dedicated to engaging Maths and English lessons, with learning linked to our wider topic wherever possible and made as meaningful as possible through real life links. Throughout the year, we will explore many fascinating topics across the curriculum in our afternoon lessons, such as Electricity in Science, Printing and Collage in Art and Global Trade in Geography.
To help your child be prepared for school each day, please ensure that they bring in a named water bottle, a pencil case with all equipment clearly labelled, their reading book and a healthy snack to eat at break time if they wish.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year of learning with you all!
