Elmer Year 1 Class
Welcome to Year 1 Elmer!
Hello, my name is Miss Patterson, and I am excited to join the Year 1 team this year.
As we embark on this exciting journey together, we'll explore a range of fascinating units. Our first adventure will be 'The Moon Landings’. In the Spring, we'll dive into 'The Great Fire of London’, and our year will culminate with learning about ‘Plants’ and ‘Wonderful Weather’ in the Summer term. Alongside these captivating topics, we'll place a strong emphasis on developing our Reading, Writing, and Maths skills.
A significant milestone this year is the Phonic Screening test in June, which is a National requirement for your child. We'll provide detailed information about this as the year progresses.
In Key Stage 1, fostering independence is key. Please ensure your child brings their book, reading record, and a bottle of water every day.
We are thrilled to start this year of fun and learning with all of you.
