Potter Year 3 Class

Welcome to Potter Class!

To start the year we will be looking at 'Buildings' with a historical focus. We will be looking at the different homes people have lived in through history and looking at how architecture has developed. We will look at the evidence that buildings give us for the way people lived in different periods of history and discuss how they have changed. We will be starting with the Stone Age and working chronologically till the present day, finishing with discussing how buildings may change in the future. Our Geography focus for the Autumn Term will be looking at the physical and human geography of our local area and how this has changed over time. In the Spring term, our History focus looks at the Romans. We will be comparing our present life with how Romans lived, and learning about key Roman inventions and changes that they made that we still use today. Our Geography focus for the Spring Term is Volcanoes and Earthquakes where we will be learning about how these features developed and the effects they have on the surrounding population. In the Summer term, our History focus is Early Islamic Civilisations where we will be learning about developments from this period of history that have impacted our daily life and how early reading and writing was developed at this time. Our Geography focus for the Summer Term will be looking at the physical and human features of the UK.
