Dear Parents

This weekend is the start of Christmas festivities and I'm sure that many of you will be putting up Christmas decorations. We are the same! I shall say no more but I'm hoping that the children will be excited on Monday.

Wreaths

A quick thank you to Mrs McGinty for donating a Christmas wreath to the school. It is a thing of beauty so many thanks for thinking of us.

Rotary Club Christmas Service

Children in the choir from Year 5 and Year 6 will be singing at the Methodist church on Wednesday, 4th December. Parents, only of these children, will be able to view the performance. However do not fret because the whole Choir will be singing on Saturday, 7th December.

The Choir on Tour

St Nicholas' Church Service

The Choir has their first Christmas outing on Saturday, 7th December. The children start at 10.00am. All parents are welcome to come and see the concert but also to wander around the Christmassy stalls in the Church.

Jump! Christianty

In the lead-up to Christmas, all our RE classes have been focusing on Christianity. We were thrilled to welcome the Jump! Christianity team back to our school to teach the children about the story of Jesus' birth. The KS1 classes had an especially exciting time creating their own Christingles—a fun and meaningful activity that has left everyone feeling even more excited for the festive season!

Netball at Roundwood

Mrs Stanger's netball club had a match on Wednesday at Roundwood school.

Year 5 and 6 participated in their first netball friendly match. Since September, Mrs. Stranger and our parent volunteer, Mrs Griffiths Molloy, have been working with the children to hone their skills, and this was a fantastic opportunity for them to put their training into action.

The teams displayed impressive determination and resilience throughout the matches. Team B celebrated a great win, while Team A, despite a loss, created fantastic opportunities and gained valuable experience.

With another friendly match scheduled for next week, the children are excited for another chance to learn, grow, and develop their skills even further!

School Jumper Day,  Thursday 12th December 2024

Christmas jumper day is looming so we are again asking for the donations of old jumpers that no longer fit your children.

If you do have any old spare Christmas jumpers you no longer need please bring these to the school office where we will make sure that they make their way to the right places.

We will be wearing them on Thursday 12th December as well as Christmas Cinema day and Christmas Lunch Day.

Christmas School Lunch, Thursday 19th December 2024

The menu for Christmas Lunch Day has been set and is below.  Christmas lunch is available for all children in school, including the children who historically have packed lunches.  The cost of the Christmas lunch is £2.60 and if you wish your child to take part please use Aspens Select to order your meal.

Christmas lunch days is a real celebration so please encourage your child to take part.

This is the only option of food on that day, so we really hope that as many of your children will join us. Please place your orders by Monday, 2nd December 2024.

If the children don't want to join in with Christmas lunch then please send them in with a packed lunch for the day.
