We loved our visit from Steel today, learning all about resilience and the importance of sleep, healthy diet, being active, hydration and showing gratitude (noticing glimmers). Can anyone beat Steel’s record of 757 burpees nonstop in under an hour?#pshe pic.twitter.com/FLHRxZ2Lkq

As part of Safer Internet Day, year 2 explored a variety of dangers online and discussed how to respond to them. They had some excellent ideas and good knowledge of the safety features of various apps. They created posters to teach younger children about what they had learnt. pic.twitter.com/dWyOSidsdH

This week in assembly we celebrated Martin Luther King day, reading about this inspiring activist who devoted his life to fighting for civil rights. We linked to other activists such as Nelson Mandela, Greta Thunberg, Malala and Rosa Parks; and to our value of respect. pic.twitter.com/TKQlLAdduw

26th January 2024

Dear Parents

I normally start my newsletter with a highlight of the week but this week it is a low light - TRAFFIC!

The traffic this week has been quite dreadful and has resulted in lots of late children - and members of staff too. Sadly, there is nothing we can do about it except leave home earlier which I know isn't always possible and sometimes doesn't make a difference anyway. We do understand the pressure the roadworks are putting on everyone. Hopefully the level of roadworks will ease shortly but I want you to know we feel your pain!

Reception Trip

Ladybirds had a fantastic time on Wednesday morning at Little City / Nee Naw Parties. They role-played driving emergency vehicles, working at the hair salon, visiting the supermarket and even putting out fires!

Parents' Evening

Year 5 parents' evening has been postponed due to Mr King's ongoing illness, but everyone else we hope to see you on either Tuesday, 30th January or Thursday, 1st February 2024. Please note there will be no co-curricular clubs after school on Tuesday and Thursday next week due to parents' evening.  Choir has also been cancelled on Monday and parents have been informed.

Correct Data Information

There was an incident this week when we were unable to contact a family due to the incorrect information being held by school.

Please if you change address, change phone numbers or the details of your emergency contacts please let us know. You can check your current details on Edulink by clicking 'Update Information' and then you can submit any changes via Edulink. Alternatively, you can email the school office and they will make the changes.
