Dear Parents/Carers

We have had a very exciting week with our Year 6 children completing their KS2 SATs. A huge thank you to the small army of parents who took time out of their busy days to provide the most divine breakfasts for the children before the tests began. This, the extra playtimes and then extended buddy time with the reception children on Friday made their week. The end of SATs marks yet another rite of passage for our children as they slowly move their way to secondary schools and the next chapter of their schooling.

Year 6 SATs week

This week, the Year 6 pupils completed their SATs, and we have been incredibly proud of their hard work, determination and perseverance throughout the week.

The children enjoyed a delicious breakfast each day, kindly provided by parents. There was a wonderful selection of treats on offer, from pancakes and pastries to fresh fruit and juices. Many thanks to all the parents for their generosity — it was greatly appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed by the children.

On Thursday, we ventured to the park to celebrate the end of the tests and to recognise the children’s fantastic efforts throughout the week.

Year 4 Exotic Explorers' Workshop

Year 4 recently took part in an exciting 'Exotic Explorers' workshop, which they all absolutely loved. The children had the incredible opportunity to get up close with a giant gecko, a mossy frog, and a royal python! They were also delighted to meet a baby sugar glider in training, and watch a parrot demonstrate some amazing tricks. It was a truly wonderful day of hands-on learning!

Year 2 Walk to Rothamsted Park

On Thursday, Year 2 visited Rothamsted Park for a local science trip.

The children were fantastic at using their learning of plants from this half term to make the most of the environment around them. They found lots of flowers growing such as daisies and buttercups, they observed bees pollinating by sticking the pollen to their legs, and they investigated seed dispersal through blowing dandelions into the wind.

We finished off the afternoon by having some fun in the playground, and despite getting hailed on, a great time was had by all!
