Dear Parents
Bite Sized Newsletter
I did say last week that we wouldn’t have another newsletter until January but clearly, I was wrong!
The reason for the newsletter today is two-fold. One to say Thank you to FoHA for the supply of Christmas crackers and tableware for the children’s Christmas lunch yesterday. We were so busy we didn’t manage to take any photos which is most unlike us!
Secondly, but most importantly, Miss Harvey- after many months of deliberation- has finally committed to emigrating to Australia. She has booked her ticket and she is flying off on 1st February 2025. She will not be returning after the holidays so it is all systems go for her.
The parents and children of Year 3 and Year 4 have already been told as a matter of courtesy, before informing the whole school. While she is very excited, she is also a bit scared to walk away from everything that she knows, especially the 7 years that she has spent with us here, her Harpenden Academy family. Please approach her with tissues!!
I am sure that you wish her the very best of luck in her Australian odyssey. We will all be meeting up with her one last time on 17th January so if parents wish to send cards etc to her we will make sure that she gets all of them.
Finally, once more, we wish you all a very happy holiday. I hope that Santa brings you all- big and small- your heart’s desire.
We will see you back bright and breezy after the Christmas holidays
Take care
